what's on

As well as our weekly classes we have so much more to offer our students at Odyssey. From competitions to gradings and seasonal parties to local events, there is always a full calendar of events for the whole family to join in with.

GRADINGS

Grading is a physical examination that martial artists need to take to attain their next belts and progress through the school.

These gradings are an excellent way for our pupils to demonstrate the techniques and etiquette that we work on at our weekly classes. Our first grading took place on the 7th of May and was a hugely successful event for our club as parents and family members all watched a display of courage and skill by the candidates.

Our next Tae kwon-Do grading will be held on the 18th June 2022.

We will be attending the next GMS Open Championships in October 2022 and are currently preparing our students for this competition.

competitions

Here at Odyssey we want to bring out the best in all our students. We compete at both national and international competitions and love seeing our pupils secure the titles they have worked so hard to achieve.

Our pupils competed at the GMS national championships on the 20th February in Ravenscraig and brought home an outstanding 11 medals including 2 golds.

We also competed at the ITF Scottish Championships over two days, 21st and 22nd of May, held in Ravenscraig. Winning medals in all disciplines including Patterns, Sparring and Special Technique.

Our incredible assistants competed at the ITF European Championships in Porec, Croatia. Both represented Scotland with distinguished performances. Miss Stirling only just lost out to the current world champion. Mr Stirling delivered a mesmerising campaign and secured the bronze medal.

We will be attending the next GMS Open Championships in October 2022 and are currently preparing our students for this competition.

SOCIAL EVENTS

We love a party at Odyssey and we always look to add extra events throughout the year on top of our weekly classes.

We regularly hold Christmas, Halloween and Birthday Parties and we continually have challenges running throughout the year for our students to take part in.

We care about our students as a whole – not just how they are in class so we always want to hear about your achievements at school and at home. The first thing we ask our students at class is ‘How was your day?’
