ABOUT US
We are a Strathaven born and bred club and we are proud to have been able to build a custom built training facility in the heart of our town. We have great experience supporting local schools, seasonal events, disability groups and those with additional support needs. We would be delighted to share our expertise in self-defence, confidence, anti–bullying and team building.

MRS MACKENZIE

Mrs Mackenzie has over 20 years experience in Tae Kwon-Do, training and competing at the highest level. She spent 12 Years representing Scotland’s National Team and won multiple World and European Championship Medals. In recognition of these achievements, Mrs Mackenzie was named South Lanarkshire’s Sports Personality of the Year. Benefitting from a wealth of experience and her welcoming personality you will be amazed how enjoyable your path to self-improvement can be!
Mrs Mackenzie was recently asked to coach the Scotland National Tae Kwon-Do team. After competing with them for so long, it was a massive honour to be asked to join the coaching team.
Mrs MacKenzie is a mum herself, with a background working in education, so she understands the difficulties of parenthood and finding a club that can support and nurture each child’s individual needs. She wanted to create a club that is is family friendly and fun, where we can help improve confidence, fitness, and knowledge of self-defence.

The smartest of our squad, Miss Stirling recently completed a Master’s degree in AI Applications. She’s been competing for 12 years, 6 of them proudly on the Scotland National Team, with the European Championships being her favourite event of the year!

When he’s not teaching or travelling for the World Championships (his favourite!), Mr Stirling is busy studying Business at university. With over 10 years of competition experience and 8 years teaching, he brings knowledge, energy and laughs to every class.

Miss Raeburn has been teaching with Odyssey for the past 2 years and is currently heading into S5 at Strathaven Academy. She loves the Scottish Cup and is a brilliant role model for our younger students — always kind, patient and full of energy!
